Fall Animu is On!

Some of the series to be released this fall were already aired a couple of days ago, but before jumping to them, I would like to spare a few moments reviewing some of the previously-ended anime that I’ve watched, and enjoyed throughout.

Seto no Hanayome

Although this was created by Gonzo, Seto became one of my favorite romance comedies for the last season. I’ve even made a few episode synopses just to express my appreciation. And I admit, they ended it with a pinch of romance and a lot of LOL

Buffed-up Nagasumi!

In the end, San-chan got her dream guy after all. :D

When I first saw the introduction, I thought, “What’s this, Mermaid Melody?” But as I ended Seto, I can really say that this show can be considered a Ninkyo Love Comedy. XD

My Rating: 4/5

School Days

Maybe that one-week episode delay became a sort of a marketing strategy in a way since a lot of people started to look for the series after hearing the news. Unfortunately, I am not the type who has a lot of guts to view the black blood violence [thus my reason for not paying much interest to Higurashi] at its fullest. However, the delivery of the story and its end was brought very well. And for some reason, I have this strange feeling that they’ll either be making a second season of this one, or perhaps even Summer Days. Either way, that’ll be something to be frustrated over again. Hahaha. Kidding.

Teh REAL Nice Boat
I guess that nice boat wasn’t much of a bluff after all.

I can’t make a summary of this last ep, but this post probably can.

Rating – 5/5 I never thought I’d give full remarks. This is for the sake of a successful revenge anyway. XD

Zero no Tsukaima – Futatsuki no Kishi

I was swept away by first season, but this time, I was rather disappointed. I was expecting something more exciting from both protagonists [well, the fourth and eleventh episode could be an exception I think]. I dunno if they did this season to promote big busts or add the romance between Louise and Saito. But one thing’s for sure, they’ll be making a third season for Zero, and hopefully, by that time, they’ll focus more on the story progression rather than that fairy’s boobs. Well, a bit of ecchi can’t be bad anyway.

Rating – 2/5

Potemayo

This is more of a lighter comedy compared to Seto no Hanayome. But still, those chibis made my eyes glued to them till the end. And for some freaking reason, I cried at the last episode. Anyway, Potemayo and Guchuko’s existence is still a mystery, and the offsprings they brought may lead to another season sometime soon [or so I hope].

Rating – 3/5

Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann

This series gave me a jaw drop of all the anime I’ve watched so far. I’ve never taken interest in mecha anime, but this one had me going until the end [and yes, I'm still craving for more]. I was a bit late in watching this though [I started watching it when the series was already in its 26th episode], and it somehow made me regret for not watching it earlier. But anyway, every episode aired was full of surprises, emotions and lessons to learn and re-learned. I think every otaku around can watch and appreciate this anime [even anti-mechas!] as much as I did.

And for the win:

Summary!

IMO the best way to summarize Gurren-Lagann in its first arc.

Rating: 5/5 Enough said.

Well, so much for that. Fall anime first impressions to come up.

Responses

  1. I agree

Gurren Lagann takes not only this season, but also the whole year XD

But for some reason, Death Note kicked it to number 2 again

I got this love for Death Note again

  2. One of the best this year, I can agree. XD

The year’s not yet through, who knows maybe there’ll be better series to be shown. :D

    Nostalgia again! =))
